Ričardas Gavelis’s Women

The late Ričardas Gavelis has often been perceived by readers and critics alike as a misogynist. His female characters will be examined from a feminist perspective in an attempt to prove or disprove this hypothesis and reveal the true nature of the author’s attitudes toward women in his seven novels and some of his short stories.
